At Multicultural Aoraki we support, connect and celebrate the multicultural communities of Aoraki.
Non-profit organisation, community group. The Aoraki Migrant Centre supports migrant families to settle in the Aoraki region. The Centre provides advice and assistance for migrants.
The Aoraki Multicultural Council was formed in May 2004, as an initiative to raise funds for the Tsunami in South East Asia. Following on, we became a member of NZFEC – Zealand Federation of Ethnic Councils (now New Zealand Federation of Multicultural Councils). We now have members from 70 different cultural backgrounds involved in the council.
The Aoraki Migrant Centre offers a range of services, events and activities to help you settle into your new community. We are able to offer support, information and advice about living and working in New Zealand, and will advocate on your behalf if language or cultural background is making it difficult to communicate with people or organisations.
